With just nine days now until the season opener at Boone Pickens Stadium against TU, there still hasn't been any official word on who the backup quarterback or who the first running back off the bench for the Cowboys will be just yet.

Something to consider is Taylor Cornelius, who has more game experience than Keandre Woodtee at quarterback for OSU, is also, according to his teammates, a natural at just about any sport that he plays.

Whether that makes any difference at quarterback or not, who knows, but don't be surprised if Cornelius ends up being the first one out on the field.

As far as the running backs go, Jeff Carr, of course, is transferring to Texas A&M-Kingsville.

That's mainly because there are a lot of talented, young backs including J.D. King and Jaron Wilson's who’s names keep coming up.

So, one of those two very likely could be the backup behind Justice Hill.

Both will play and so might true freshman Chuba Hubbard, the sprinter from Canada, who's making up for lost time as the last one in.
